Talk through about different threads  and quality threads

Then we will thread up the sewing machine

Learn how to put in the bobbin the correct way

Then I will go through the different needles and sizes there are for different fabric,

I will show you how to change the needle on your sewing machine

How to change the tension and when its needed to be changed.

And where the grain line is on the fabric and how to find it.

Then we will get sewing I will show you how to change the stitches on your machine and we will have a play about sewing just to get a feel for you machine and we can check the tension if correct.

Once you’ve had a play I will then give you a test piece of fabric and we will have a go a sewing some straight lines on different stitch length and different stitches, then I will test you and get you to sew a circle, then a square . and then you will have survived the first lesson

After threading the top of the machine, we'll learn how to insert the bobbin correctly.

Then it's time to have a play.

You'll spend some time simply sewing on scrap fabric, getting used to the speed of your machine, learning how the foot pedal feels, and becoming comfortable guiding the fabric.

This is also a great opportunity for us to check that your machine's tension is sewing correctly.

Once you've had a chance to practise, I'll give you a test piece of fabric.

We'll begin by sewing straight lines using different stitch lengths and a variety of stitches. This helps you develop control while getting used to the machine.

Once you're feeling confident, it's time for a little challenge!

I'll ask you to sew a circle, followed by a square.

Don't worry—they don't have to be perfect! These simple exercises help improve your steering and control while giving you confidence in handling your sewing machine.
